Andre received a bachelors in fine art from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where his main focus was sculpture. While working metal casting and welding, he  became involved in papermaking and weaving. Eventually his work evolved into a unique combination of  metal and natural fiber textiles and paper. Today he owns Andre Hoggan Studios, a small gallery and papermaking studio. Located in Salt Lake City he teaches papermaking classes as well as creating art with handmade paper.
